Pioneer Services named one of the 'top military friendly employers' in the nation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Nov 18, 2005) Pioneer Services has earned the honor of being a top "military friendly employer" in the Veteran's Day edition of G.I. Jobs magazine. While the top 25 focuses on Fortune 500 companies such Home Depot and General Electric, the magazine listed four companies outside of the corporate giants that do an outstanding job actively pursuing veterans: Lear Siegler Services, Inc., Austin, Texas; COMTek, Chantilly, Va.; Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.; and Pioneer Financial Services.

"The experience provided by the military is an asset to any company," said Julie Schaller, chief people officer. "Since we work with the military every day, it's helpful to hire people who understand their unique financial situation. Military personnel also have excellent leadership and managerial skills, as well as a strong work ethic that leads to better service and a true passion for the work we do."

Pioneer Services was also recently one of only fifteen companies awarded with the Department of Defense's 2005 "Freedom Award," which recognizes companies that show extraordinary support of associates in the National Guard and Reserve. Pioneer Services recruiter Tim Menne says that the honors show that the company's vision is being realized, both for its associates and its customers.

"Our goal to help improve the quality of life for military families and assist them in reaching financial independence is becoming a reality in many areas of our business," Menne said. "Hiring those who have served is definitely part of that. Their knowledge, drive and will to succeed can only make our company stronger, and will allow us to help even more service members."

Being named as a military friendly employer shows how Pioneer Services Representatives are enhancing the quality-of-life and financial independence for military families. Pioneer Services has more than 70 years in the financial industry and serves the military community through 26 office locations and online services. In addition to financial education programs, loans, and insurance products, Pioneer Services Representatives support military families and communities through a variety of partnerships, programs, and sponsorships.
