Pioneer Services' Joe Freeman 2009 'Rainmaker' Award recipient
Ingram's magazine recognizes Kansas City's top business performers
Freeman is responsible for all lending and retail operations, as well as strategic planning, at Pioneer Services, a company that has provided financial education and services exclusively to the military for more than 20 years. In his position, he manages a diverse group of more than 200+ associates in various departments and geographic locations. In the last year, Freeman has implemented a number of operational changes and short and long-term business development initiatives that helped the company achieve the best 12-month performance in its 77-year history.
When it comes to being an ambassador of excellence, Freeman has taken his success at Pioneer Services and applied it to numerous local and national organizations, be they business, philanthropic, military, or community service groups. This includes, among others things: the National World War I Museum Board of Trustees; Chair of the Council for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Missouri in Kansas City (UMKC); Business Executives for National Security; the Association of the United States Army; and the Dean's Bloch School Advisory Board.
He has authored several published articles on leadership and management, as well as industry articles on finances and financial education. Freeman is also an Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Teaching Fellow at the Bloch School of Business. He is a graduate of the Bloch School of Business at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and earned a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting.
