UMKC, Bloch School present Freeman with 2011 'Alumni Achievement Award'
A graduate of UMKC's Bloch School of Business and Public Administration, Freeman was recognized at a luncheon on April 27, 2011 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City for providing leadership to several different areas of the Bloch School, the university, and the community. This includes work as Chairman of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Council, the Dean's Bloch School Advisory Board, and the UMKC Alumni Board, among other things. His community service and civic leadership, as well as his efforts to assist military families through Pioneer Services were also recognized.
"This recognition by UMKC and the Bloch School is a tremendous honor, especially in light of other alumni and recipients who have received the Pulitzer Prize, have helped conquer malaria, or are leading our community's civic and philanthropic efforts," said Freeman. "UMKC is a treasure to the region that crosses state lines for support, but still has a national reach with its very prominent alumni base."
