Pioneer Services manager helps induct new Audie Murphy Club members

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Mar 26, 2010) Al Hobbs, manager of the Pioneer Services office serving Fort Bliss, Texas, and a retired U.S. Army sergeant major, helped induct six noncommissioned officers into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club (SAMC) during the 2010 U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command Senior Enlisted Leaders Training Conference at Cocoa Beach, Fla., March 23.

The SAMC is an elite membership group that recognizes noncommissioned officers who have displayed the integrity, professionalism, commitment to mentoring subordinate Soldiers, leadership abilities, and personal ethics as exemplified by WWII war hero Audie L. Murphy. Al has been a member of the SAMC since 2004, and has supported it since 1995.

During the ceremony, Hobbs spoke of the importance of responsibility, professional development, and getting involved in the community. “Organizations like the SAMC give Soldiers and their families support, and help build a strong base for those serving now, and all of those who come after,” said Hobbs. “I am absolutely honored to have been asked to speak and help induct these fine Soldiers.”
